So does that mean he likes Jamie T or not?

just to be clear....

.... I thought he was brilliant the other night. I've not seen him perform live before, but I was knocked out. I only knew "Sheila" when I went into the gig, and when I came out I was keen to hear as much as I could.

when I talk about the Clash and so on over on my review, it's not meant to be a dig or anything, I'm just trying to set some context for anyone passing through who hasn't heard him before.

I'm not trying to have a go.

...well, I've had a bit of interest from the review, so hopefully a few people will now go on and discover his music.

I certainly am.

I'm also busy trying to find a tape player in the house to have a listen to that mixtape!

It was a good night.

i was just kindda 'shocked' that you wrote being surprised that the guy actually knew who billy bragg is... as if jamie (the guy in question) was retarded... or maybe i am.

nah... it's just a reflection of the fact that he's 20 years old is all. Billy Bragg has never exactly been massive, and he originally recorded "New England" several years before Jamie T was born.

When Jamie was on doing his acoustic bit, he really reminded me of Billy Bragg, actually (even though he doesn't really sound anything like him - there was just something about the way he was delivering his songs. Just him and his bass). I was thrilled when he closed his set with a Bragg cover.

I'm just showing my age. Jamie T is clearly a man of great taste.
